Under the YKK Philosophy of the CYCLE OF GOODNESS®–No one prospers without rendering benefit to others–YKK has been promoting initiatives towards bringing about a circular economy within the fashion industry through the development of sustainable products and other measures. YKK came to hold an exhibition at the Circular Economy Research Lab, having found common ground with its concept: spreading awareness of the circular economy and encouraging behavioral changes that contribute to resource recycling.

■“Circular Economy Research Lab” Hands-On Special Event

The Circular Economy Research Lab is a hands-on special event which aims to raise awareness of the circular economy and teach actions that contribute to resource recycling through collaboration with the “Science Manga Survival” series (published by the Asahi Shimbun). The program will feature areas where participants can engage with the circular economy in fun ways alongside a special stage offering guest talks and interactive activities, as well as events where attendees ranging from children to adults can enjoy learning through enjoyable experiences. Specifically, through hands-on experiences, participants can learn what their choices in everyday situations—such as buying or using items—contribute to the circular economy, how to appropriately sort items after use, and how these used items circulate.
