Dragnets

Did you know YKK® zippers are also being used in dragnets for fishing? In times past, the ends of a dragnet were tied with cords and called a topknot in Japan. When bound by cords, time was needed to tie the ends of the dragnet again after emptying the fish from them. Efficiency of work done on deck was drastically improved by attaching a YKK® zipper to these dragnets. The zippers for dragnets are injection molded plastic zippers called VISLON®, which are lightweight and alleviate any fear of rust when left in the seawater for long periods of time. YKK® zippers are not only used in dragnets but also fixed fishing nets and aqua farming nets.
